By car you can reach the gorgeous natural pine reserve of the Feniglia, with a path for walkers and bike-rides 6 km long, where are open accesses to the wild and unspoilt sand beach .
It's possible to hire for 1 day or more, a private motor boat to make the tour around the rocky promontory of Monte Argentario with its stiff cliffs and pebble coves with blue-turquoise waters.
From Santo Stefano harbour (200 meter distant from the house) daily cruise leave for Giglio and Giannutri islands.
You can spend the nights walking along Santo Stefano yatch harbour, full of fish restaurants and ice-cream cafés or drive by car to the historical town of Orbetello, located on the central isthmus, between the two lagoons.
This is an old historical town, full of nice restaurants, shops and art exhibitions, very buzzy during Summer period.
Next morning you can walk on foot to the harbour and to embark for Giglio island or to reserve a day trip on a fishing boat with fishermen.
At 8 km distance there is the modern Argentario Golf Course with 18 holes, Designed in an uphill position of the promontory, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama.
It is possible to play in this scenic landscape in every season of the year.
It's suggested to rent a car to visit the coast of the promontory and to reach the different beaches.
I strongly advise a visit to the historical hamlet of Capalbio and the nearby fairy Park of Tarots, created by the famous French sculptor and painter Niki de Saint Phalle.
Walking into this colored maze of mirrors and mosaic of monsters, you will really explore the world of Alice in Wonderland.
For a 1 day visit to Rome, you can reach the Stazioni Termini (at few minutes from Colosseum, Piazza di Spagna, Trevi Fountain) in 90 minutes travel, taking the train at the Orbetello Station.
Others possible 1 day excursions are: by car to Siena or by train to Pisa from Orbetello station (in 2 hours).
